Surrounded by the Kamo River to the east, Doshisha University to the west and the Kyoto Imperial Palace to the south, it is one of the largest shopping streets in Kyoto, nurtured by history and culture, and is familiar not only to the locals but to everyone in Kyoto.

A traditional grocery store. Also introducing Ajarimochi (a sweet originating from Kyoto). Introducing unique Japanese seasonings and popular souvenirs.

A store that sells dried goods, including bonito flakes.
The aim is to introduce bonito flakes to raise awareness of Japanese "umami" (delicious flavor) and to help people become more familiar with Japanese food.

A traditional tofu store that also sells fish paste products.
Learn about the main ingredients in Japanese cuisine. (I would also like to sample tofu, so I negotiate with the restaurant staff.)
