Event overview and purpose
This experiential cultural course is an event held at the Tango Local History Museum in Kyoto Prefecture, with the aim of experiencing the local nature and culture. CEC, which promotes cultural tourism, planned and promoted the event, hoping to help people learn more about the charms of Kyoto. The event was designed to allow people to experience the charms of Kyoto's "sea" through hot air balloons and local ingredients. On both days, more than 150 participants gathered early in the morning and enjoyed a unique, multifaceted experience, including the view from the sky, food culture, and Tango life closely linked to the sea. In the summer of 2025, we hope to plan a camping trip that will allow people to experience local ingredients from a different perspective.
1. Highlights of the experience
The hot air balloon experience took off from the ruins of Tango Kokubunji Temple, a nationally designated historic site, and offered a panoramic view of the beautiful Amanohashidate and the sea. Participants were impressed by the magnificent view of the sea and sky, and enjoyed the beauty of Sea Kyoto while feeling the breeze.

2. Local flavors and laughter will fill your heart and stomach
On September 28th, the "Breakfast Course by the Sea" featured rice balls, a symbol of the sea of Tango, and the guests enjoyed the meal in a refreshing morning atmosphere. In addition, Miku-san from the comedy duo Carrot and Cabbage, who lives in Kyotango City, participated in the event, filling the venue with laughter.
3. On October 5th, you can also experience riding a Japanese boat and making Tango Barazushi.
On October 5th, the "Barazushi Course" offered participants the opportunity to experience making Tango's traditional Barazushi and enjoy the deliciousness of dishes made with local ingredients. A talk event on Japanese boats was also held on the same day by boat builder Mitsuyoshi Yoshioka, where participants learned about the techniques and history of boats.
